National branding: key to attain Vision 2023

Branding of national programmes that focus on development are key in accelerating the vision to achieve the upper middle income economy by 2030, State Affairs for Provincial Affairs and Devolution of Harare Metropolitan Province Mr Charles Tavengwa has said.

He was speaking during at the Brand Zimbabwe consultative meeting held in the capital today.

Brand Zimbabwe is a marketing platform used for conveying a dynamic and unique image of the country as the best investment destination. Over the past years, Brand Zimbabwe has seen the country recording tremebdous beneficial goals, including attracting tourists across the globe and foreign direct investment among other significant achievements.

Minister Tavengwa hailed efforts by President Mnangagwa and the Second Republic to rebrand Zimbabwe and attract foreign direct investment and also the removal of sanctions.

“President Mnangagwa has addressed the need for good and pragmatic branding so as to accelerate the attainment of Vision 2030 targets earlier than the originally planned, and move Zimbabwe to a developed and high-income status,” he said.

“All efforts by President Mnangagwa are focused on achieving the engagement and re-engagement strategy as espoused in the National Development Strategy (NDS) 1.”
