THE National Multi-Faith Economic Dialogue has released a comprehensive assessment of the country’s economic performance during the second quarter of 2025, with achievements which include the stabilisation of the ZIG currency and an increase in foreign currency receipts.

The review underscores advancements across various sectors, such as finance, agriculture, transport and health. This reflects the Government’s commitment to foster economic growth, which aligns with the Vision 2030 agenda for an upper-middle-income society.

In a statement released yesterday, NAMFED said the organisation appreciates the commendable achievements made by President Mnangagwa in the Second Quarter (April to August) of 2025.

“NAMFED applauds the praiseworthy efforts made by the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, His Excellency, Cde Dr ED Mnangagwa in spearheading effective strategies that facilitated tremendous economic growth in the Second Quarter of 2025.

“Some of the notable achievements include the stability of the ZiG currency and the growth in foreign currency receipts,” read the statement.

The statement said President Mnangagwa awarded title deeds to 1 000 farmers in Mazowe, marking a major step towards land ownership and national stability.

“The handing over of tittle deeds to the citizens is a legal milestone that brings peace of mind and a sense of security to the people of Zimbabwe.

“In his speech at this occasion, the President reiterated that agriculture is the bedrock of Zimbabwe’s journey towards attaining an upper-middle-income society by 2030,” said the statement.

NAMFED chief convener, Mr Obey Mapuranga, said the organisation has established its internal department of policy, research and liaison which is formulating professional inter religious programmes and projects that will complement the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2) economic roadmap.

“The projects and programmes range from church leadership courses, market gardening training, registering and formalisation of the inter religious informal sector. We plan to construct an inter-religious museum, an inter-faith school of excellence and operationalisation of the Multi Faith Micro Finance which shall give business loans to religious business people at 0 percent interest until 2030,”said Mr Mapuranga.

He added that the organisation is setting up committees that will work together with various Government ministries to aid the economic roadmap.

“Plans are underway for the establishment to hold an inaugural World Religious Business Conference in Victoria Falls to contribute to one of the approved priorities of NDS2, which is Image Building, International Relations and Trade.

“The purpose of the WRBC conference is to showcase the investment opportunities in Zimbabwe to the wide audience of religious business delegates drawn across the globe.”
