Nationwide clean up campaign on

In a statement, Public Works Ministry Secretary Engineer George Mlilo said all abandoned vehicles on Government parking lots will be removed.
He said Government was preparing a parking lot at the corner of Herbert Chitepo and Fifth Street in Harare for Government employees working at Kaguvi, Mukwati, New Composite

Office blocks and Compensation House with no official parking space.
“The premise is Government property where the Public Service Centre of the Government of Zimbabwe is to be built.
“The Public Service Commission Centre’s parking site will be used by all civil servants with no official parking space at Kaguvi, Mukwati, New Government Composite Office blocks and Compensation House,” he said.

Eng Mlilo said those who will park their vehicles at the new site will be asked to produce valid identity cards. The new parking lot will affect driving schools that were using the space for driving lessons.

“We would like to express our regrets to the various driving schools who have been using the premises for driving lessons,” said Eng Mlilo.
He said the Public Service Commission buses that ferry civil servants presently parking along Fourth Street will park at the corner of Herbert Chitepo and Fifth Street.

Eng Mlilo said the parking space will only be available during the day.
Government will also remove abandoned furniture in all corridors of Government offices.
