WARRIORS’ defender Milton Ncube is now in South Africa training with his new Absa Premier Soccer League team Ajax Cape Town. Ncube joined the Urban Warriors a week ago for their preparations for the upcoming season. The former Highlanders versatile player was thrown in the thick of things when his football knowledge was tested for the first time in a PSL side. His first assignment was in the game with an amateur team, the Mandela University, in Cape Town over the weekend. Ajax’s first game was against the University’s first team where they won 2-0 followed by their 4-0 demolition of their juniors team.

Ncube and his other countryman Simba Sithole played in both games.

Urban Warriors spokesperson Milo Boer told Chronicle Sport: “We are more than delighted to have Ncube at the team especially now that we are about to resume our official games. He is a quality player with vast experience in the beautiful game.

“Ncube’s advantage is that he was active and playing regularly for his team Highlanders FC in Zimbabwe. His fitness level is uncompromised even though I can’t say much about his performance in the field as that information will be only said by our coach Roger De Sa.”

Ajax Cape Town was once home to Wilfred Mugeyi, Ian Gorowa, Tafadzwa Rusike, Norman Mapeza and Khama Billiat.
