Ncube, Mushore blow for Bosso . . . As seven sit out week nine

Fungai Muderere, Zimpapers Sports Hub

HIGHLANDERS’ hunt for points will be without their midfield dynamos Melikhaya Ncube and Mason Mushore, who are both suspended ahead of today’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League showdown against Bikita Minerals at Barbourfields Stadium.

The Bosso versus Bikita Minerals clash is part of the midweek Week Nine fixtures, which will conclude on tomorrow.

Ncube and Mushore, who have been instrumental for the black-and-white army, are among seven players sidelined through suspension this week.

The pair has been in sizzling form, chipping in with crucial goals to fuel Kelvin Kaindu’s campaign.

After back-to-back away stalemates against Ngezi Platinum (0-0) and TelOne (1-1), Kaindu’s charges will be desperate to collect maximum points in front of their passionate Emagumeni faithful.

Sitting seventh on the log with 11 points from eight outings, Bosso will be eager to grab a full set of points and keep pace with early leaders MWOS. Bikita Minerals are just two points behind Highlanders.

Also suspended this week are TelOne captain Frank Makarati, FC Platinum’s Hagaizo Magaya, Greenfuel’s Collins Mujuru, ZPC Kariba’s Collen Muleya and Marvelous Faranado of Yadah Stars, all having accumulated three yellow cards.

Makarati will miss TelOne’s tricky assignment against Chicken Inn at Luveve Stadium today.

The Gamecocks, who have only managed a solitary win, a narrow victory over Dynamos, are 13th on the table with eight points. Joey Antipas’ side will have to keep a close eye on red-hot TelOne forward Washington Navaya, who has already bagged seven goals in eight matches.

Elsewhere today, Kwekwe United will take on Simba Bhora at Bata Stadium while Greenfuel host a struggling Dynamos outfit at the Greenfuel Arena. CAPS United welcome FC Platinum to Rufaro Stadium, and Ngezi Platinum Stars clash with Yadah Stars at Baobab Stadium.

Tomorrow, Scottland FC entertain Herentals College at Rufaro Stadium while MWOS square off against Manica Diamonds in what promises to be a tightly contested battle.
