Ndiraya conducts first Simba Bhora session

TONDERAI Ndiraya conducted his first training session yesterday as the new Simba Bhora coach at the RBZ Sports Club.

Ndiraya was fired by Dynamos in November last year as the club embarked on a massive overhaul of its executive, technical and playing staff in a bid to mount a serious challenge for the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title this year.

Ndiraya was officially confirmed as head coach of the top-flight league’s newly-promoted club this week, replacing Authur Tutani, who led the Shamva-based side to the ZIFA Northern Region Division One championship.

Tutani, however, does not have the requisite CAF A badge to coach in the PSL.

Simba Bhora are set to host their home games at Wadzanai Stadium in Shamva, and are currently renovating the facility to meet ZIFA and PSL approved standards.

In a statement yesterday, Simba Bhora secretary general, Taurai Janhi, described Ndiraya as one of the best coaches in the country with the ability to transform the PSL newcomers into a formidable side.

“As Simba Bhora, we are excited to announce the appointment of Tonderai Ndiraya as our head coach ahead of the forthcoming season. We believe that he is the right coach to lead us in the Premier Soccer League.

“Coach Ndiraya is one of the best coaches in the country and we believe he is a coach who can handle pressure in the Premier Soccer League given that he has coached at Dynamos and Ngezi Platinum Stars. We also felt that he is a coach whose ambition also dovetails with our ambitions,” read the Simba Bhora statement.
