AN ugly standoff between Dynamos and their former coach, Tonderai Ndiraya, was averted after he returned the facility car he was using during his time at the Glamour Boys.
Ndiraya’s contract was not renewed when it expired at the end of last year, but the coach only surrendered the twin cab Ford Everest vehicle yesterday.
Reports had been swirling that Ndiraya was resisting returning the vehicle, saying he would only do so after he is paid all his outstanding dues.
But Dynamos chairman, Moses Maunganidze, had emphatically dismissed reports that they owed Ndiraya, and the fact that he returned the car yesterday is an indication that he’s now owed no debt.
Former skipper, Partson Jaure, who followed Ndiraya to Shamva-based Simba Bhora, surrendered his club issued car when he was released.
The vehicles were donated by principal sponsor Sakunda Holdings to Highlanders and Dynamos for exclusive use by the coaches and captains.
Maunganidze indicated that they intend issuing the cars to new coach, Herbert Maruwa and new captain, Frank Makarati, early this month.
