HAVING assembled one of the strongest squads, Simba Bhora coach Tonderai Ndiraya is happy with the progress his team has made as they seek to fight for the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title.

Five games into the season, Simba Bhora are third on the log standings.

The Shamva club overhauled their team with ten new signings ahead of the start of the season.

The list of the new additions boasts of the likes of Walter Musona, Perfect Chikwende, Taimon Mvula, Junior Makunike, Wilson Mensah, Talbert Shumba, Malvin Mkolo, Billy Vheremu, Harrison Masina and Gift Saunyama.

“I think after about 10 games, we can talk about the progress of the team and that of the individual players.

“I am seeing a lot of improvement with every outing, each and every game there has been some improvement, so it is a process which needs us to keep improving every game,” said Ndiraya.

Simba Bhora have won three matches, lost one and drawn one in their five matches.

“These players were playing for different teams and to really bring them together and train them to start to understand each other is a process and it is a process we are undertaking patiently,” he said.

Ndiraya described his squad as a team of players with a high level of game intelligence.

“We have quite a number of players who have game intelligence.

“The players have a good understanding of the game and are good individually but what is left for now is for them to become a unit, to become a team and start to give us consistent performances.”

Simba Bhora will have a stern test of character this weekend when they host Dynamos at Wadzanai Stadium on Sunday.

April 20: v Bulawayo Chiefs (Luveve)

April 24: v Bikita Minerals (Sakubva)

April 27: v TelOne (Wadzanai)
