Ndolwane takes on child abuse

Bruce Ndlovu
Martin Sibandaas Ndolwane Super Sounds have again teamed up with PLAN International to bring awareness about child abuse in and around Tsholotsho.

The dynamic group and PLAN started working together in 2014.

The group has been on a drive to shed light on some of the abuses taking place in the area, particularly the scourge of child marriage which is still rampant in the area and around most rural parts of the country, despite laws enacted to deter people from the practice.

The groupas spokesperson Thandazani Nyoni said PLAN had renewed its partnership with the group because it had always delivered on its promise of bringing an entertaining but educative act.

a?Plan international recognised our talent and potential in the music industry. This is a great honour for usA as a band.

Plan international has kept faith in us since we started working together in 2014 and since then we have done a number of shows with them in Tsholotsho and Bulawayo. We always deliver our best and I strongly believe that is one of the reasons why they believe in Ndolwane,a? said Nyoni.

Nyoni added that their partnership with PLAN was not coincidental, as the messages that the organisation was spreading were touched on in their music.

a?The main reason for this fruitful partnership is the relevant messages in our songs that talks about social life in communities across all age groups. Our songs are not only for joy and dance but they also serve an educational purpose,a? he said.
