FORMER Chicken Inn striker Tendai Ndoro, who plays for the South African Premier Soccer League team Mpumalanga Black Aces, believes he can still challenge for the Golden Boot award even if he joined the league race this year.Ndoro said his new club has great players who are hungry for success. The Warriors marksman scored his first goal of the season last weekend when they beat Maritzburg United 2-1 in a league match.
Ndoro told Chronicle Sport: “It’s always great to be on target, especially now that the team is in a difficult situation fighting relegation.
“I will try to score as many goals as possible, the way it is I still have a huge chance of scoring more than 15 goals in the remaining games.”
The Warriors player said in football anything is possible. He said he was confident that the team would escape relegation. On Wednesday evening, Aces beat AmaZulu 2-0.
AmaZulu are home to Tapuwa Kapini and Carlington Nyadombo.
Tomorrow, Ndoro is expected to be part of the Aces side to face Terrence Mandaza’s Maritzburg United at Harry Gwala Stadium in Durban in a Nedbank Cup last 32.
Ndoro said: “We are aware of the situation the team is in. We are fighting relegation but for now we should take the Nedbank Cup into serious consideration.
“We will take each game as it comes and avoid putting any pressure on ourselves.”
Other former Warriors players at Aces are Method Mwanjali who captains the team and Energy Murambadoro.
