MPUMALANGA Black Aces striker Tendai Ndoro maintained his good form in South Africa’s Absa Premier Soccer League. He scored his seventh goal of the season in his team’s 1-2 loss to Bidvest University on Saturday. Ndoro joined the Mpumalanga side in January in a deal worth about $80,000 from Chicken Inn where he was on loan from Bantu Rovers. The former Chicken Inn marksman told Chronicle Sport: “I have settled very well and I’m dishing out my best football ever in my career.
“We still have to push hard as our team is in the relegation zone but with the confidence and a great coach we have, Clive Barker, definitely I assure our supporters that we will still be PSL material next season.”
Ndoro, who scored his seventh goal of the season over the weekend still believes that he can surprise many and scoop the Golden Boot Award.
“The race is still wide open but that does not mean I have to be selfish in the game. I must be a team player and see to it that Aces escape the axe,” said the Warriors hitman. Sithembiso Ngcobo scored a brace for Wits.
Meanwhile, the Witbank Spurs captain Patrick Mubaiwa is hopeful that his team will survive relegation after a poor display in the National First Division.
Spurs had been doing well since the beginning of the season but recent poor results, a series of draws have left the team in danger.
Over the weekend Mubaiwa gave his team hope after scoring a crucial goal when his team beat Baroka FC 1-0.
The former Young Warriors attacking midfielder said:
“At the moment things are bad, the team is fighting relegation and that was not our target as we wanted to be promoted at the end of the season. Everything is looking okay, players are working hard and focused only luck is not on our side but surely all will come right.”
Mubaiwa has scored six goals for the lower division side and is determined to bang more goals and help his team survive the axe.
The former Harare United player joined the side with his twin brother some years ago and have tried to assist the team gain promotion to the elite league without success.
Spurs have former Dynamos defender Shepherd Murape as their coach and former Highlanders hitman Ralph Matema in their books.
