ZIM dancehall artist, Ndunge Yut, says the Nigerian entertainment industry is equal to our local industry.
Ndunge Yut pre-empted lines off his yet-to-be released song on social media, called Nigeria versus Zimbabwe.
He believes Nigerian artists are not superior to their Zimbabwean counterparts despite the West Africans dominating on the big stage.
The Nigerian superstars – Davido, Joeboy, Burna Boy and Fireboy – have been doing well on the international scene.
Ndunge Yut said he believes he is as good as Grammy winner Burna Boy.
He even equated comedian Matsanga to the veteran Nigerian actor, Ramsey Noah, and compared the Mbare streets to Lagos streets.
He said the Zimbabwean currency was better than the Naira.
Speaking to H-Metro, Ndunge Yut said the song was meant to spread the message to Zimbabweans, and music promoters, that Nigeria is not superior to this country.
He said Zimbabwean artists should be treated fairly, and equally, when Nigerian artists come here for shows.
“We are tired of being treated as underdogs when Nigerians visit for shows here.
“We heard Jah Prayzah was paid less than Burna Boy whom we heard received huge sums of money.
“My song will be released soon and there is no hidden meaning in that song, I meant every word I said.
“The reason for this song is to spread the word to my fellow Zimbabweans that we are equal to the Nigerians, and our artists deserve to be paid the same as the Nigerians, when they come here for shows.
“The promoters should take this message into consideration,” said Ndunge Yut.
He made his controversial entrance into the Zim dancehall circles after singing about the death of Sekuru Ndunge.
