Nearly 400 arrested in 10 days “No to Mushikashika” operation

Nearly 400 people have been arrested, and 61 unregistered cars have been impounded in 10 days during the ongoing “No to Mushikashika” operation, according to the police.
In a post on X, the police said that 190 touts were also among those arrested.
“On 19/01/25, 383 arrests were made under the operation ‘No to Mushikashika,’ bringing the total number of arrests to 6,540 since 09/01/25. So far, 190 touts have been arrested, while 61 unregistered and plateless vehicles have been impounded,” said the police.
The operation aims to reclaim public spaces and enhance commuter safety by cracking down on unauthorised transport services and illegal touting practices.
