Former “Big Brother Mzansi” contestant Neliswa Ngada has paid tribute to late rapper Bravo Le Roux, remembering a friendship that shaped her life long before her time on television.
Their bond was widely recognised by fans and those close to them. Ngada often spoke about his influence and support, and viewers of the show saw her singing and dancing to his music. She also shared moments where she expressed how much she missed him.
Taking to social media, Ngada wrote: “Long Live, Mnganam (My friend). RIP. I love you.”
Le Roux, born Sinesipho Peter, died on January 22 in Switzerland at the age of 30. On February 1, a spokesperson for his family confirmed that he died by suicide. Before his death, he had spoken publicly about depression and the pressures that came with his career.
He was known for music that reflected township life and identity. His work included the song “Makwenkhwe” and the album “Igazi, iinyembezi nombilo”, which earned respect from fans across the country.
Ngada’s tribute came hours after her removal from “Big Brother Mzansi”. She was disqualified following a physical altercation with fellow housemate Velile Nongongo, known as Que.
The incident happened after Que made remarks toward another contestant, Didintle Mothobi. The confrontation escalated in the bedroom, where Ngada struck Que while he was in bed. The show confirmed that her actions violated its rules on physical violence.
Her disqualification sparked debate online. Some viewers criticised the use of violence, while others defended her actions, saying that she was standing up for a fellow housemate – IOL.
