THREE of the four Castle Lager Premiership newboys were at the receiving end in the opening weekend of the marathon.
Simba Bhora, Greenfuel and Hwange all lost their matches while Sheasham picked up a point in a goalless draw against Chicken Inn.
Simba Bhora was the only newly-promoted side to find the beck of the net in their 1-2 loss at the hands of champions FC Platinum.
Chipangano also lost at home against Dynamos at Barbourfields.
Green Fuel had what seemed like favourable opponents in their opening fixture against Yadah but still suffered a 1-0 loss at the hands of the Miracle Boys at the National Sports Stadium on Monday.
Since these clubs are not using their traditional home turfs, this might also prove costly in their quest to have a decent start.
Green Fuel coach, Lloyd Mutasa is confident the Ethanol Boys will weather the storm.
“It wasn’t how we wanted to kickstart our campaign but I think we paid the price of conceding early to the hosts.
“It was always going to be difficult to play to our game plan and the boys didn’t get the right message in the first half.
“We got back in the game after the break and I think we created good chances but we lacked luck,” said Mutasa.
He added.
“It’s still early to count any team out at the moment but, I think, after maybe six or seven fixtures, the picture will be clear for everyone to see who is going where.
“I’m confident with my squad, we have what it takes to go toe-to-toe against any opponent but we just need to believe in ourselves for us to achieve our targets.”
