The High Court has reserved judgment in the bail bid by Neville Mutsvangwa and his two accomplices and they will now know of their fate tomorrow.
Neville (44), Ellas Majachani (45) and Simbarashe Tichingana (38) are facing one count of contravening the Exchange Control Act – Dealing in Foreign Currency and another count of contravening the Bank Use Promotion and Suppression of Money Laundering Act.
They are also being accused of contravening the Money Laundering and Proceeds of Crime Act.
Additionally, Neville is being charged for contravening the Postal and Telecommunications Act after he was found in possession of a Starlink product before it was approved.
Neville and his accomplices will be back at the magistrates’ court today for routine remand.
The High Court is expected to make a ruling on the case tomorrow.
The matter was heard yesterday after Justice Esther Muremba, who had partly heard the matter earlier this week, recused herself.
She cited personal reasons and apologised for causing the delay before referring the matter back to the Registrar.
The State has labelled Neville a flight risk after he was found in possession of 28 bank cards from different countries.
However, the trio’s lawyer, Josephine Sande, says the State has no case against the trio.
