Nevsun Premier Pool League (NPPL) 2024/2025: A remarkable season

The Nevsun Premier Pool League (NPPL) 2024 season was nothing short of extraordinary, with thrilling matches, intense rivalries, and outstanding achievements.

From the league games to various tournaments and the grand prize-giving ceremony, the season will go down as one of the most memorable in history.

Leisure Centre Pool Club emerged as the undisputed 2024 NPPL Champions, due to their dominance, consistency, and determination throughout the season. The club won 22 matches out of 26, accumulating a massive 66 points.

This victory cemented Leisure Centre as one of Zimbabwe’s premier pool clubs, adding the NPPL title to their already impressive accolades, which include a Top 4 finish in the National Champions League and the Sunshine Champions League Top 4.

The NPPL Prize-Giving Day celebrated not only the teams but also individual brilliance, discipline, and contribution to the sport. Sponsored by Nevsun Investments and Rubber City, the event reflected the league’s commitment to recognising talent and promoting professionalism in the sport.

A significant highlight of the season was NPPL VIPs donating to Kudakwashe Children’s Home, demonstrating the league’s dedication to giving back to the community.

The league also celebrated all 14 participating teams, with prize money distributed from $10 000 for the champions to $200 for 10th–14th positions.

As the curtains close on the 2024 season, the NPPL continues to set the benchmark for professional pool in Zimbabwe. With strong sponsorship, community involvement, and fierce competition, the league is poised for even greater achievements in the coming seasons.
