NEW: 2024 proposed budget: City holds stakeholders meetings

CITY of Mutare has started holding stakeholders meetings as consultations to solicit participants’ input for the formulation of the 2024 proposed budget.

 

The meetings, which are being convened physically, commenced today and will run until Friday at Civic Centre’s Council Chambers.

 

Stakeholders expected to participate at the meetings include small and medium enterprises (SMEs), workers’ unions, the business community, learning institutions, residents’ associations, media, youth and women representative organisations, people with disabilities as well as churches.

 

In a statement, the local authority said: “The City of Mutare would like to inform all valued residents and stakeholders that the 2024 budget season has already started. Council shall convene physical meetings to engage different stakeholders on advised dates and times. The physical meetings availed complement other methodologies that have been established by Council to broaden the engagement process.”

 

City of Mutare urged stakeholders to be actively involved and participate in the 2024 budget formulation process using the different processes availed by the local authority.
