MUTASA District has managed to get at least 90 percent of HIV positive people under treatment, while recording the lowest number of new infections in the province, District Development Coordinator, Mrs Caroline Mudawariwo has said.
Speaking during the launch of the Zimbabwe World Aids Day Campaign 2022-2023 at Hauna Growth Point today, Mrs Mudawariwa said the great strides are attributed to the interventions by National Aids Council (NAC) and its parent ministry, the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC).
“In the spirit of leaving no one and no place behind, all people in Mutasa are treated equally and we consider equity when it comes to health services,” she said.
She also said various models of HIV prevention and control are being implemented by NAC and other partners while targeting men, adolescent girls, young women, key populations as well as pregnant women.
“As a district, we are committed to contributing to better health outcomes and ensure that AIDS will never be a public health threat by 2030,” she said.
The campaign was hosted by the NAC and the MOHCC.
