New albums a mixed bag

MacDee and Master Nakapa this eight-track album “Zvakanaka” is expected to be the best of his works so far.
The album has good instrumentation and acoustic quality with its weakness being the lack of originality.

Agnes Gudza – “Tiratidzei Nzira”
Former broadcaster turned musician Agnes Gudza going by the name Eglada makes her debut on the scene with this exciting album.
Eglada is vocally gifted, however, her album lacks creativity, as it brings nothing new to the table.
She is also a good composer as reflected by her lyrics.

Forgive Mhungu – “Ndinoriparidza Chete”
Apart from the hideous album cover “Forgive Mhungu” is certainly a talented musician.
He displays versatility as he interchanges between Shona and Sotho.
With a couple of collaborations with Bethen Pasinawako the 12-track album makes a good listen for Christians seeking spiritual upliftment but beyond the Christian audience this project will not make the cut for anyone else.
