ALL is set for the inaugural Marvelous Nakamba Foundation (MNF) Under-17 tournament, which kicks off at White City Stadium in Bulawayo on Saturday.

The two-day tournament will feature the Under-17 teams from Highlanders, Dynamos, Njube Spurs, Hwange Dynamo, Albun Academy, Bulawayo City, Ajax Hotspurs and Chicken Inn.

MNF chairman, Antony Nakamba, told The Sunday Mail Online on Friday that “all is in place for what should be an exciting tournament.”

A beneficiary of a sound junior football development policy, Aston Villa midfielder, Nakamba, is sponsoring the tournament through the foundation, chaired by his father, Antony.

The MNF also pays fees for over 1 000 school children across Zimbabwe, under its Education Assistance Plan (EAP).

“All the groundwork has been covered. We are just waiting for the teams to arrive in Bulawayo.

“Excitement is building up, and we are expecting some good games as some of the best players at Under-17 level will be at this tournament,” said Antony Nakamba.

A number of local coaches and foreign scouts are also expected at the tournament.
