NEW: Benza shines as Herentals humble Harare City

Online Reporter

TINO BENZA scored the first goal of the second half of the season, as Herentals beat Harare City 2-0 at the National Sports Stadium on Friday.

Coincidentally, the youthful striker was the scorer of the opening goal of the season, against the same team, at the same venue, back in November 2021.

His opening goal on Friday helped Herentals to a crucial victory against struggling Harare City.

Blessing Majarira scored the other goal for The Students, who moved to sixth position with 27 points, eight behind log leaders Chicken Inn, who play on Saturday.

Herentals are now unbeaten in their last six matches having recorded two wins and four draws during that run.

It is not the same with Harare City, who are winless in their last five games.

Taurai Mangwiro’s side remain on 18 points, just two above the relegation zone.

It is not looking good for the Municipal side, who are slowly sliding towards the drop zone.

Mangwiro has a huge task on his hands in the second half of the season.
