NEW: Black Rhinos honours players

GARETH MADHAKE and Keith Madera were crowned joint winners of the Black Rhinos’ Players’ Player of the Year award at the army side’s end-of-season awards held in the capital on Thursday.

The duo walked away with US$300 each.

Soccer Star finalist Eli ILunga, who had been tipped for the club’s biggest prize, scooped the Golden Boot Award for his 11 goals this season.

He got US$400 for the award.

Skipper Farai Banda was voted the club’s Best Player of the Season, pocketing US$500, while Brighton Christopher was named the club’s second-best player and received US$400.

Midfielder Gracious Mleya got the Most Disciplined Player of the Year award and took home US$400.

Goalkeepers Blessing Mwandimutsira and Stanley Chakwana shared US$400 for the Goalkeeper of the Year.

Allen Gahadzikwa was voted the Most Loyal Player and pocketed US$400, while 15-year-old Principe Magondo received US$350 for the Most Promising Player of the Year.

Prince Milanzi was named the Most Improved Player of the Year, and walked away with US$400.
