New board for DTZ

President Mugabe has appointed a new 15-member board of trustees for the Development Trust of Zimbabwe (DTZ) chaired by Zanu-PF Secretary for Information and Publicity Cde Simon Khaya Moyo.

Cde Khaya Moyo confirmed the development in a statement yesterday.

He said in the statement: “The President and First Secretary of Zanu-PF Cde R.G. Mugabe has appointed the following persons as trustees of the Development Trust of Zimbabwe (DTZ) with effect from 1st June 2015 – Dr Ignatius Chombo, Dr Sydney Sekeramayi, Cdes Oppah Muchinguri, Josiah Hungwe, Prisca Mupfumira, Sithembiso Nyoni, Mike Bimha, Cain Mathema and Tsitsi Muzenda.”

Also appointed to the board of trustees are Mrs Thandiwe Nkomo-Ibrahim, Retired Colonel Tshinga Dube, Dr Charles Utete, Cdes Herbert Nkala and Sobusa Gula-Ndebele.

Dropped from the board are Messrs Didymus Mutasa, Francis Nhema, Tongai Muzenda, Cde Walter Chidhakwa, Nicholas Ncube and Busi Bango.

The aim of the trust is to ensure that there is a project in every province.

The trust acquired Nuanetsi Ranch in Mwenezi as its first project and seeks to create a general awareness, understanding and appreciation among Zimbabweans of the potential benefits in the fields of agriculture, commerce and industry.

According to the DTZ trust deed, some of its objectives are to construct houses and buildings or works of every description on any land held by the trust and to provide bursaries, donations, gifts, grants, loans and prizes to any beneficiary in the furtherance of the objectives of the trust.
