NEWLY elected Highlanders Football Club treasurer Nkani Khoza has said his vision at the club will be anchored on the team’s constitution, structure and hierarchy.
Khoza was elected Bosso’s treasurer last Sunday after he amassed 83 votes, while then incumbent Israel Moyo who was co-opted after the resignation of Bukhosi Mthombeni, received 71 votes.
“There are three pillars that I will anchor on as a basis to achieve the vision that I have for the club. To achieve this, all is anchored on the club’s constitution, structure and hierarchy. In that regard, my vision is to see Highlanders return to its yesteryear days. My vision is to see the success of the club.
“We should not be witnessing what we are seeing at the moment. We are in a championship drought period and as such we need to work together to attract sponsors, good players and produce the desired results. Cash flow challenges should be a thing of the past. Financial statements should be well accounted for,” said the Beitbridge raised Khoza.

He expressed his will to work hand in glove with club’s members in handling the club’s finances.
“The club’s finances should be well accounted for so as to attract prospective sponsors. There is a need to close leakages and produce required reports in time.
The vision is to bring order and all records should be clear. I think having a functioning audit committee within the club that has qualified people will be ideal. I don’t want to work alone. I will be very comfortable with a continuous audit, which can even happen monthly,” said Khoza.
He is a registered member of the Public Accounts and Auditors Board. Among other academic qualifications, the new Bosso finance boss is a holder of an Executive Masters Degree in Business Administration.
It was at last weekend’s Bosso elections that Fizo Siziba got another term as the vice-chairperson after he was unopposed.
Kenneth Mhlophe is the club’s chairman, Morgen Dube is the secretary-general and Kindman Ndlovu holds the position of committee member.
A fortnight ago, the club’s bona fide members ratified amendments to the club’s constitution with the changes coming into effect immediately.

The process of amending the constitution has been ongoing for some time, reflecting the club’s dedication to modernising and streamlining its operations.
Key changes include the appointment of the chief executive officer (CEO) as the head of the secretariat, and ending the previous arrangement of shared responsibilities with the executive secretary.
The CEO will now serve as the sole signatory for all club affairs. The amendments also include changes to the titles of some executive positions.
The executive secretary will now be referred to as the executive member for marketing, while the treasurer will take on the title of executive member for finance.
Similarly, the committee member will be designated as the executive member for technical development.
Another significant amendment is that all executive positions will now be contested in a single election starting in 2027. Previously, elections for the chairman, secretary and committee members were held separately from those for the treasurer and vice-chairman. From 2027 onwards, all executive members will serve four-year terms.
