NEW: Brig-Gen Kanhanga’s body to lie in state at One Commando

THE body of the late national hero, Brigadier-General Epmarucs Kanhanga (Retired), has returned to Harare from his home in Mvurwi, Mashonaland Central, ahead of burial on Friday.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage said: “The Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage wishes to advise the nation that the late national hero, Brigadier-General Epmarcus Kanhanga (Retired), who passed on February 2, will be laid to rest on Friday 10 February 2023 at the National Heroes Acre.

“The body was flown to his Mvurwi farm, where family and friends paid their last respects, and has been returned in Harare, where it lies in state at One Commando.”

The ministry said a church service will be held on Thursday ahead of burial on Friday.
