ZANU PF Manicaland provincial chairman, Cde Tawanda Mukodza officially introduced Presidential Advisor on Investment, Cde Paul Tungwarara, as a Central Committee member at the Provincial Coordination Committee (PCC) held at Marymount Teachers’ College this afternoon.
Cde Mukodza said this follows the confirmation of his co-option by the Politburo and Central Committee, respectively.
Cde Tungwarara fills a position left vacant from Chipinge by Cde Dorothy Mabika, who was subsequently elected the provincial women’s league chairlady.
“I want to update you on the Central Committee recommendation we made as Manicaland to the national leadership. I want to confirm that Cde Paul Tempter Tungwarara is now a Central Committee member following acceptance of our recommendation by the Politburo and Central Committee, respectively,” said Cde Mukodza.
Cde Mukodza said the PCC meeting was convened to give an update on the party’s preparations ahead of Constitutional Amendment Bill Number 3 public consultations by Parliament.
The parliamentary team will hold seven hearings across Manicaland, engaging residents on the proposed amendments. The hearings will begin tomorrow (Monday) at Nyamhuka Shopping Centre in Nyanga and Manica Bridge Hall in Mutasa. On Tuesday, 31 March, sessions will be held at Chipembere Business Centre in Makoni and Sakubva Beit Hall.
The team will then move to Rimbi Business Centre in Chipinge and Chakohwa Secondary School in Chimanimani on 1 April, before concluding on 2 April at Murambinda in Buhera.
The meeting also received reports from party leaders, led by Central Committee members deployed to conduct inter-district meetings across the province, whose feedback showed that party structures were ready and eager to rally behind Constitutional Amendment Bill Number 3. The teams were deployed in Makoni, Mutasa, Nyanga, Chipinge, Chimanimani, Mutare and Zimunya-Marange.
The youth, women and war veterans’ leagues have also been involved in cascading the party position on the proposed constitutional amendments.
