NEW: Buffalo Range airstrip gets facelift

THE Buffalo Range airstrip in Chiredzi is currently being rehabilitated to open up business opportunities for the district.

Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Permanent Secretary Mr Nick Mangwana said the exercise is being undertaken with the help of volunteers.

“Buffalo Range Airstrip is being rehabilitated. The rehabilitation is taking place with the help of Ward 29 volunteers. A rehabilitated airstrip will enable a smooth flow of various planes, thereby opening up business opportunities for the district,” he said.

Government is on a drive to expand domestic airstrips to facilitate trade and tourism.

Buffalo Range Airport is the gateway to the Lowveld, which has numerous tourist attractions.
