NEW: Bulawayo robbers in US$32 000 heist

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is looking for four suspected armed robbers who on Tuesday attacked an unidentified couple with machetes and a pistol before making off with over US$30 000 cash.

According to a police statement on Thursday, the couple was travelling to Harare after being sent by a Harare-based company to collect the money from a sister company in Belmont, Bulawayo.

“Police in Bulawayo are investigating circumstances surrounding an armed robbery case which occurred on September 7, 2021 at 15km peg along Harare-Bulawayo Road,” reads the statement.

“Four suspects, who were armed with machetes and an unidentified pistol, robbed a couple US$32 078 cash.”

Meanwhile, police in Harare are investigating a robbery case in which five suspects robbed a Kuwadzana woman US$3 000 cash, a Honda CRV registration number ADW9111, plasma television, cell phones, blankets and various groceries yesterday.
