A new charity is set to begin operating in Bulawayo, with its main purpose being to alleviate poverty among orphans in the Matabeleland region.
The proposed charity, Sakhelene Sisonke, will focus on providing shelter in Lobengula West, education, healthcare, emotional support, and life skills to children who have lost one or both parents and are in need of care and protection.
One of the founders, Ms Sindisiwe Moyo, said the organisation will ensure that orphans are given a haven that is on par with children who have both parents.
“Our mission is to restore hope and dignity to orphaned children by creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment where they can thrive and reach their full potential.
“We believe that every child deserves love, opportunity, and a future. Through the combined efforts of compassionate individuals, partners, and the community at large, we aim to make a lasting difference in their lives,” said Ms Moyo.
Ms Moyo said they are open to individuals who want to be part of this heartfelt initiative.
“Those interested in becoming a founding member or board member, willing to support this cause through donations, volunteering or partnerships, or simply wishing to learn more about our goals and upcoming plans can contact us via email at [email protected] or on +263773636639. Let us come together and be the reason a child believes in tomorrow,” said Ms Moyo.
