THE 2024 edition of the Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance Festival finals will be held at Mucheke Stadium in Masvingo on July 27.
This follows the successful hosting of the traditional dance competition’s nine provincial finals.
Only the Bulawayo provincial finals remain outstanding and will be held on July 13 at Phekiwe Bar.
The group winning the competition will walk away US$15 000 richer, with the second-placed group taking home US$10 000.
The third-placed group will pocket US$7 500
The Nyaungwe Dance Group will showcase the Mbende dance representing Mashonaland East Province, while Matabeleland South will be represented by Bolamba, a group showing the Setapa dance.
Matabeleland North will be represented by Pezhuba Pachena, a group that specialises in the Nsumbuke Dance, with Dzimbahwe Nengoma specialising in Chinyambera representing Mashonaland Central.
Culture Warriors, who claimed the Harare provincial title, will showcase the Dinhe dance.
Gango, which specialises in Mbakumba, will represent Masvingo province, while the Mkango Malawi Nyau dance group will represent Midlands.
Mutare-based Dapuraunanzva Arts Ensemble are the Manicaland representatives, while Budiriro Arts will perform the Mhande dance as they represent Mashonaland West.
Apart from the contestants, musicians Jah Prayzah, Killer T and Tocky Vibes are set to perform.
The dance competition has sparked huge interest among traditional music and dance fans.
