MBARE based music label, Chillspot’s producer DJ Ribhe appeared in court today on allegations of forcing a 14-year-old girl to skip school for some days, and taking her to one of Harare’s popular joints before raping her at his house.

Born Tafadzwa Mandaza, DJ Ribhe, appeared before Harare Regional Magistrate Mrs Marehwanazvo Gofa charged with rape.

He was not asked to plead and was remanded in custody today for bail application.

The State led by Mr Anesu Chirenje alleges that the girl attends school at Eduvest Secondary School in Glen Norah A, the neighbourhood where Dj Ribhe resides.

It is said on October 16, 2024 at around 1600hrs the girl did return back home from school.

On the same day, her  father had heard that she had not also attended school for two consecutive days.

On the following day, at around 2200hrs the girl visited DJ Ribhe at his place in the company of other people and they went to Mashwede Village.

According to the State, DJ Ribhe forced the girl to drink an unknown substance and smoke shisha.

After the drinking spree, they allegedly retired to DJ Ribhe’s place at around 3am.

The court heard that the girl only woke up to find that DJ Ribhe had sexual intercourse with her and without her consent.

It is said the girl was picked in Highfield following a police report lodged at Glen Norah Police station.
