Muchaneta Chimuka in SHAMVA
THE government of China, through Chinese agricultural experts, recently drilled boreholes for irrigation and livestock production, supplied over 2 000 roadrunner chicks and 250 broiler chicks, as well as established a greenhouse in Zindi village, under Chief Bushu, in Shamva, to enhance the lives of local farmers.
A dip tank in the area was also rehabilitated.
Water was previously a big challenge in the community as residents had to travel long distances in search of the precious liquid.
However, through China Aid, each homestead now has tape water through the solar-powered boreholes.
The chicks are reared at village head Mr Waveson Zindi’s homestead.
The villagers share proceeds for the sale.
They are also into gardening, where they grow pepper, green beans, tomatoes and vegetables, among others.
