NEW: Chipinge fatal accident victims named

POLICE have released the names of five people who died in a fatal road traffic accident involving a Nissan Caravan and Mercedes Benz that happened at the 7km peg along the Birchenough Bridge-Chipinge Road on August 11.

 

Five people were killed while 33 others were injured when the two vehicles collided head-on.

 

In a statement, police said: “The Zimbabwe Republic Police announces the names of the five victims who died in a fatal road traffic accident that occurred at the 7km peg along the Birchenough Bridge-Chipinge Road on August 11 when a Nissan Caravan collided with a Mercedes Benz.

 

“The victims were positively identified as follows: Makadirei Rwizi (39), Susan Sibiya (34), Eugene Hlungupi (42), Joshua Mhundu (32) and Rejoice Mlambo (39).”

 

Police urged motorists to exercise caution at all times, especially when driving at night.
