POLICE have arrested a 46-year-old Chitungwiza man for allegedly fatally assaulting his victim with clenched fists and feet following a misunderstanding over a cigarette.
In a statement on X, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) police said the victim succumbed to injuries whilst receiving treatment at Chitungwiza Central Hospital on Tuesday.
“ZRP confirms the arrest of Prince Gwashure (46) in connection with a case of murder, which occurred along Kunaka Street, Unit C, Chitungwiza, on July 6, 2024, in which Manfred Mujuru (44) died.
“The suspect assaulted the victim with clenched fists and feet indiscriminately following a misunderstanding over a cigarette,” read the statement.
