NEW: Cholera deaths rise to 19

Cholera had claimed 19 lives by June 19, 2023, according to the Ministry of Health and Child Care’s latest situation report.

In the period, 2 792 cases of the diarrheal disease were recorded, reflecting a case fatality rate of 0,69 percent.

“The highest numbers of cholera cases have been reported in Manicaland province with 1 177 cases and Harare province with 974 cases,” said the report.

Deaths have been recorded in Manicaland (12), Mashonaland Central (2), Mashonaland West (1), Masvingo (1), and Harare (3).
