MUTARE City Council is rolling out a Covid-19 programme starting today to April 3 as efforts to improve the uptake of the doses and reduce infection rates in the fight against the pandemic go a step up.

This comes as the country is today launching an upgraded vaccination blitz targeting everyone above 12 years.

New cases of Covid-19 infections recently spiked, with Manicaland Province among those that recorded high numbers.

The local authority said the vaccination exercise will cover the whole city and encouraged the public to come forth as all the three doses are available.

“Notice is hereby given to all residents and stakeholders that City of Mutare will conduct a Covid-19 vaccination campaign starting Monday 21 March to Sunday 3 April 2022.

“All the doses ranging from the first, second and third booster shots will be available. The covid-19 vaccination is being rolled out city-wide and apart from the city’s health facilities, residents and stakeholders can access the services at the following additional sites: Meikles Park, Sakubva, Dangamvura and Chikanga,” said Mutare City Council in a notice today.

A mobile vaccination team will also be moving around in schools, both private and public, including industries and companies, adds the local authority.
