GOVERNMENT has not withdrawn the US$175 benefit paid to civil servants through their Nostro accounts.

In a statement this morning, Secretary, Services Commission, Ambassador Jonathan Wutawashe, dismissed as fake the message circulating on social media suggesting so and said it must be disregarded with the contempt it deserves.

He said Government remains committed to improving the welfare of its workers.

“Government is not withdrawing the US$175 benefit from civil servants. The Commission advises that this is a fake message created and disseminated by miscreants bend on tarnishing the image of the Government.

“Contrary to the fake message, Government is continuously working on measures to enhance both monetary and non-monetary benefits,” said Ambassador Wutawunashe.
