AS the number of new cases of Covid-19 continues falling, Manicaland has recorded only one case over the last five days, figures released by the Ministry of Health and Child Care giving the daily updates reveal.

The figures show that between Thursday last week and yesterday, one positive case was recorded on Sunday, taking the province’s cumulative total to 29 913.

Manicaland presently has 22 active cases.

The consecutive drop in new infection cases of the pandemic has been largely attributed to new measures by Government that have seen a rapid uptake of Covid-19 vaccines, particularly the third dose.

No deaths related to the pandemic have been recorded in the province over the period under review.

The national recovery rate remains at 98 percent while active cases fall to 150.

Meanwhile, 6 423 538 people have to date received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccination while 4 781 286 have been inoculated with the second jab. 1 016 189 have received the third shot of the vaccination.
