Momentum will be the key word when Cranborne Bullets meet Green Fuel at the National Sports Stadium on Friday.
The army side secured their first set of maximum points when a solitary goal from Sylvester Munhira saw them dispatch Simba Bhora last weekend.
The Nesbert Saruchera side now hope to win their second successive match against fellow new boys Green Fuel.
The soldiers have been playing some entertaining football, but their greatest undoing has been failure to convert their chances.
“Obviously it’s a great feeling,” said Cranborne Bullets midfielder Eric Manokore after their win against Simba Bhora.
“It was something we had been fighting for, getting that first win, and so achieving that was a major boost in confidence for the team.”
Manokore, who won hearts when Bullets held giants Dynamos to a goalless draw at the National Sports Stadium during the Easter round of fixtures, believes the side can win against Green Fuel if they “guard against complacency”.
“Facing Green Fuel is a totally new game, and we need to guard against complacency,” he said.
Despite Cranborne Bullets anchoring the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League table, Manokore says the team will survive the dreaded chop.
“We are not far from the rest of the other teams, so I think for now we need to focus on each game as it comes,” he said.
“We have to try to post positive results, after which I am confident that survival can be achieved.”
