NEW: Dam water levels continue to decline despite rains

The national dam average level continues to decline, as the rains are yet to show any positive impact, the Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA) has said.

In a statement on its micro-blogging site, X, ZINWA said “Dams remain on a downward trend as the current rains are yet to bring some positive impact.”

According to the latest statistics, Chivero is at 74 percent full, Mzingwane 2 percent, Upper Ncema 0.8 percent, Inyakuni 10 percent and Insiza 37 percent.

Other dams include Tugwi Mukosi 67 percent, Lake Mutirikwi 86 percent and Manyame 75 percent.
