NEW: Man plots revenge against brother-in-law

A Harare man has been accused of threatening to kill his brother-in-law after he intervened in his marital disputes.

Carron Mushayamombe sought a protection order against her husband, Gift Shayamakumbo, alleging verbal and emotional abuse.

She claimed that Shayamakumbo repeatedly belittled her, saying she was “not good in bed” and threatening to harm her brother after he intervened.

“The dispute between us started when my husband got involved in a relationship with another woman and compared me to her.

“I told my brother about the issue and he felt disrespected. He then threatened to kill my brother through a text message for interfering in our marriage issues.

“I fear for my safety and well-being because he has become increasingly aggressive and unpredictable,” she said.

Shayamakumbo denied the allegations, stating that his wife was exaggerating and seeking to embarrass him.

“I can never behave like that towards my in-laws, I respect them,” he said.

Ms Meenal Naratom granted the protection order, barring Shayamakumbo from contacting or harassing Mushayamombe.
