United Kingdom-based urban grooves crooner Decibel has returned home after spending 17 years in the Diaspora.

The yesteryear singer (real name Daniel Mazhindu) is set to perform at a homecoming show in Masvingo on Saturday.

Decibel is one of the pioneers of the urban grooves genre and is famed for several hits, among them “Nakai”, “Chido” and “What kind of World?”

The forthcoming gig will be held on the date the musician travelled to the UK in 2005.

“It has been a challenge reaching out to my Zimbabwean music fans, but it never affected my drive,” said Decibel.

The musician said he was delighted to be back home.

“I am so excited, but at the same time you get butterflies in the stomach.

“It’s like I am doing this for the first time again.

“I have not connected with my fans for a while now.”
