Chitungwiza Town Council on Thursday commissioned service delivery vehicles from the $32 million allocated to the local authority for devolution.

Harare Metropolitan Province Minister of State and Devolution, Oliver Chidawu, was the guest of honor at the unveiling event, which was held at the Council’s offices.

In a statement, the municipality’s public relations officer, Mr Lovemore Meya, said the commissioning comes at a time when the council is looking to improve on service delivery to residents.

“This will greatly improve service delivery in the town for residents,” he said.

“The ambulances will be used by the Council’s four clinics and the two compactors will cover the whole of Chitungwiza.”
