NEW: Prepaid water meters for Chegutu

Chegutu Municipality has engaged a private company, Smart Meters, to install up to 1 000 prepaid water meters in Wards 2 and 3, as well as parts of the Central Business District.

In a statement on Twitter on Wednesday, Chegutu Municipality said the exercise is expected to commence on Thursday.

“The Municipality of Chegutu has engaged Smart Meters to install water meters in areas that include Ward 2, 3 and part of the CBD,” reads the statement.

“The exercise, which is expected to start tomorrow, will see Smart Meters installing water meters on 450 to 1 000 properties in the mentioned wards.”
