Manicaland Tennis Board chairman Vincent Nyatoti, said: “We are glad to be hosting the two events, one after the other, as has been the tradition before the Covid-19 pandemic. Players from Kwekwe, Bulawayo, Harare, Masvingo, Kadoma and Mutare are gathered for the competitions in the Thomas Franklin Martin Memorial as well as the Manicaland Open tournaments.
“It is an achievement for us to be able to honour a legendary figure in the game of tennis in the name of the late Thomas Franklin Martin who helped many players grow their careers.
The late Thomas Franklin Martin’s surviving spouse, 84-year old Anne Martin, will grace the prize presentation ceremony tomorrow (Friday).”
