THE Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has arrested a married couple after they dropped to death their 6-month-old baby during a fight.
After the incident, the couple, Colleen Munemo (30) and Shepherd Mugava (29), allegedly made a false report to the police claiming the infant fell from a bed.
In a statement on Wednesday, the ZRP said the incident occurred at Landos Business Centre, Chihota, on Thursday last week.
“Police in Mahusekwa have arrested a couple, Colleen Munemo (30) and Shepherd Mugava (29) in connection with a case of murder which occurred at Landos Business Centre, Chihota, Marondera where their child, Earth Mugava (6 months) died after being thrown on the ground during a fight on September 19, 2024,” said the police.
“The duo went on to make a false report to the police alleging that the child fell from the bed.”
Meanwhile, police in Rushinga are investigating a case of murder that occurred on Sunday at Manyozo Village, Rusambo, where the victim, Grace Mureza (28) was found dead with her head cut off.
The victim’s husband, David Meja is being sought in connection with the case.
