Mutare-based gospel artiste Dorcas Moyo is set to release her ninth album titled “Mhanza Haisekwi” on March 11.
The album consists of ten tracks, among them “Mhanza Haisekwi”, “Nyama” and “Jehovha”.
“The album is all about my life history,” Moyo told The Sunday Mail Online.
“I came from a poor background, and my mother, who was a widow, was the sole breadwinner.
“I was raised without much, but today I sometimes help out those who used to mock us, so that is why I called my album ‘Mhanza Haisekwi ‘.”
In April last year, she dropped the album titled “Bvudzi Rangu Ramera”, which she said was a token of appreciation to God.
Although some fans have raised an issue over “short” intervals between album releases, Dorcas said there are no hard rules in music.
“In the music industry, there are no written rules and regulations about the time to release new music.
“So, I wonder why so many people are accusing me of rushing to release a new project.
“It is my right to release my music. If I have thousands of songs, I can even release every day,” she said.
