NEW: Drug trafficker busted with 22kg of crystal meth, cocaine

POLICE have arrested a 29-year-old man after he was allegedly caught with 21kg of crystal meth and 1,2 kg of cocaine at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport on Monday.

In a statement, police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the suspect, Davison Gomo, was trying to smuggle the drugs from South Africa to the Philippines.

“Detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics acted on received information and arrested Davison Gomo (27) in connection with unlawful possession of 21 kg of crystal meth and 1,2 kgs of xocaine,” he said.

“The drugs were concealed in a consignment of 23 sealed metal pulleys and were intercepted at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport, Harare.

“It was destined for Manila, Philippines, from South Africa.”
