Superior court judges were on Friday conferred with certificates following the completion of an e-skills training programme, which is part of Government’s broad objective to modernise the justice delivery system.

ICT, Postal and Courier Services Minister, Dr Jenfan Muswere, who delivered a keynote address at the ceremony in Harare, said the move will help reduce the duration of litigation and attendant costs.

“The e-skills training that you have received is a deliberate effort by the Government to ensure that even the Judiciary is not left behind as Zimbabwe embraces new technologies for the benefit of its citizens.

“The e-skills training you have received will not only modernise the justice delivery system, but will also reduce the duration of litigation and attendant costs,” said Dr Muswere.

He said this will be achieved through the implementation of the Integrated Electronic Case Management System, whose features include virtual courts and an e-filing system, among other features.

“There is no doubt in our minds that our Judiciary is in full support of Vision 2030 since this e-skills training is a huge contribution towards the creation of a digital economy.”
